Project Overview:
This project involves developing a complete test framework using Dependency Injection and Spring technologies. The reason for this is to define the way tests are developed in more decoupled fashion. Test frameworks like JUnit and TestNG are perfect for unit testing but they introduce problems in larger scale functional testing. The framework should define what a test, test group and the objects used by the test are. Within such a framework problems like the need for additional steps for all tests or group of tests should be handled extremely easily, without the need of code change.
The expected outcome of the internship is a complete test framework in the form of Java jars and a set of command line tools for building and execution.
Goals:
• Learn about the challenges in automated software testing
• Evaluate best strategies for the next generation testing framework
• Design and develop the next generation testing framework
• Present the knowledge of the research and lessons learned in front of a large audience
Team & Role:
• You will be working on your own on this project, mentored by experienced technical staff
• Your role will be to fully research, design, implement, test and demonstrate the results described in the Goals section
Requirements:
• Very good knowledge of Java and OOP
• Very good knowledge of OOD (Object Oriented Design)
• Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Willingness to innovate, learn and share knowledge
• Some exposure to source control and bug tracking systems
• Good command of the English language and the ability to communicate effectively
• Knowledge in Spring technologies is a strong plus.
