PhD positions in Computer Science at University of Neuchatel

Workplace: Neuchatel, Switzerland

We invite applications for funded PhD research positions in Computer Science at the University of Neuchatel. These positions are in the context of two new European FP7 projects on the following topics:

(1) Distributed Cloud architectures for Data-as-a-Service (Daas)

(2) Parallel distributed architecture for energy-efficient computing

The positions are funded for a 3-year duration. Applicants must have a Masters degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), good knowledge of English, and strong team-working abilities. Candidates with solid programming skills who are knowledgeable in (1) distributed systems, networking, security, dependability, and/or (2) parallel computing, operating systems, compilers, programming models particularly encouraged to apply. The PhD candidates are expected to work in collaboration with the project partners from Academia and the Industry to conduct their research. They will also participate to the development of large-scale proofs of concept and to their evaluation.

Location

The University of Neuchatel is settled in a beautiful landscape of lake and mountains that offers a friendly atmosphere to about 4,000 students. The city of Neuchatel belongs to the French-speaking part of Switzerland and is located at the border of the German-speaking part of the country. The university offers four academic disciplines: Humanities, Science, Theology, and Law & Economics.
