SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (VOICE SERVICES)
Job Description:
Operates and maintains VoIP Core. Deploys new voice and multimedia services in the network. Troubleshoots problems with multimedia services in the VoIP core. Provides expert knowledge about VoIP, signaling and multimedia applications. Handles technical communications with interconnected VoIP operators to create and operate interconnection signaling. Troubleshoots VoIP and TDM equipment including signaling and accounting. Estimates and deploys new technologies and devices to the network, including CPE.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs configuration, operation and maintenance tasks for all VoIP network equipment, media gateways and small amount TDM related devices;
- New multimedia services in voice core deployment;
- Detects, isolates and resolves faults voice components;
- Troubleshoots and resolves problems at session layer;
- Provides technical support to billing regarding provisioning and accounting;
- Performs measurement and assessment of network and device usage and propose voice network optimizations;
- Evaluates new CPE, devices and technologies and propose their implementation;
- Provides high-level technical support on resolving technical issues with operated VoIP and multimedia equipment.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of current VoIP and Video over IP technologies and used protocols;
- Knowledge of SIP and H.323 protocol stacks;
- Ability to troubleshooting and faults resolving skills in operated area;
- Knowledge/ Experience in IP and data communications;
- Knowledge/ Experience in operating system administration and application programming.
Qualification/Education:
- Computer science, telecommunication or related field;
- VoIP system administration;
- UNIX administration. Some of scripting language experience / Perl, PHP, Python, some UNIX shells etc./. Understanding RDBMS – Including Open Source and Commercial ones;
- Knowledge/ Experience in Routing & Switching technologies;
- Cisco networking certifications are advantage.
