JUNIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Komfo is a Bulgarian-Danish software development company created in 2008. Our product is an innovative social media management system that integrates Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+ and more. Komfo has a very strong position in the Scandinavian market with more than 450 customers, including Microsoft, Ikea, Telenor, Sony PlayStation, Sony Music and more. 

Our offices in Sofia and Copenhagen (and since recently, in San Francisco) currently employ 70+ experienced and motivated professionals such as Software developers, DevOps engineers, Front-end developers, UI/UX designers, System administrators, QA engineers, Project managers and more.

 

Technologies and tools we use

We use a wide (and constantly expanding) array of open source technologies in order to build a stable, versatile and scalable product. We are guided by the following principle in our choice of technology: find the best fit for each problem, flexible enough to build upon and expand, without over engineering.

Our servers use Java for most of the core services and APIs. We have MongoDB as our main storage, supplemented by MySQL, Elasticsearch and Redis. As for client-side technologies, we're building a rich-UI front-end, based on HTML5, CSS3, Sass, AngularJS, jQuery. We build cutting edge data analytics based on HBase and Hadoop. In quality assurance, we are known for many innovations such as: lightning fast integration tests after every code change (used to take three hours, now it takes less than two minutes), dynamic test data generation for every test case, and a next generation web services simulator for complex social networks API endpoints. For our mobile platform, we're currently using PhoneGap and exploring native development solutions. We use cutting edge methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.

Junior Software Engineer

What we expect from you

• Excellent knowledge in software development foundations and OOP
• Experience with Java/PHP/NoSQL is a big plus
• Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript related libraries (jQuery, Underscore etc.) is a big plus
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Very good command of English
• Strong desire in learning new technologies and high motivation for self-improvement are a must
