Project Overview:
The monitoring and navigation are crucial for the cloud-sized virtual infrastructure operations management. Thus, the need for advanced UI component (code name Global Navigator) enabling and simplifying the former is identified.
The purpose is to visualize and present in an easy-to-operate manner large multidimensional information sets by applying interactive graphics and animation technology. The component should be based on advanced algorithms for large data sets visualization – elastic list facet browsing combined with ‘table lens’. It should handle information sets with cloud-sized dimensions.
The component should pass certain scalability and performance criteria.
Goals:
• Research Elastic lists facet browsing and table lens algorithms and implementations
• Invent combined algorithmic solution for the graphical visualization of the component
• Implement the component in Flash/Flex, targeting visualization of cloud-sized information sets
• Run benchmarks to prove performance of the component (time and space)
• Aspire and comply with high software design and implementation quality standards
• Present the solution
Team & Role:
• You will be working on your own on this project, mentored by experienced technical staff
• Your role will be to fully design, implement, test, prove performance and demonstrate the advanced UI component ‘Global Navigator’ under supervision
• The goals listed above should be reached
Requirements:
• Very good visualization algorithmic background
• Willingness to invent and/or implement advanced visualization algorithms in Flash/Flex
• Experience in Flex/Flash applications
• Experience in UI development
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness to innovate, learn and share knowledge
• Good command of English and ability to communicate effectively
