The department Technology and Innovation Platform (TIP) Production is responsible for the design, development and implementation of production processes and required tools. This comprises the source code repository with its data structuring, the build and assembly and the deployment to test systems for technologies, such as Java, .Net and C/C++.
The Central Infrastructure (CI) team provides the infrastructure for TIP Production services. It ensures high availability and scalability of mission critical systems and components like Perforce, NWDI, Nexus, Replication, Redwood Cronacle, etc. At the same time the CI team is continuously driving infrastructure optimization and new technology evaluation. Our stakeholders are entire non-ABAP development community in SAP, so transparency on escalations and systems health are vital part of CI team’s duties.
You will be part of an engineering team that will be responsible for optimal use and continuous improvement of production tools and infrastructure portfolio.
We are looking for open-minded person with versatile technology experience, who is interested in:
• Integration of new products/systems into TIP Production infrastructure

• Constant search for optimization of the cost of infrastructure operations
• Proactive/intelligent monitoring landscape’s health

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understand the challenge of implementing mission critical systems
• Develop and engineer reliability into software and systems to manage availability, scalability and performance of the landscape
• Integrate new products into production landscape
• Proactively monitor the landscape
• Understand how systems are used by our stakeholders
• Actively communicate with/and support development teams
• Be up-to-date with the latest development within SAP and open source community.
• Network proactively to establish connections with our stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong programming experience in object oriented language such as Java, C/C++ or .Net.
• Administration experience of Win and Unix operating systems is a big plus.
• MS TFS (Microsoft Team Foundation Server) experience is a big plus.
• Experience in Replication and data storage technologies is an advantage
• Good communication and writing skills in English.
• As TIP Production is working along lean principles you are expected to integrate into an agile team. Support innovation and share learning with other team members.
• Experience with Perl and shell scripting languages is an advantage
• Team oriented with outstanding drive and energy, flexible and willing to learn new subject matters quickly
• Minimum 2 years professional experience as software engineer
