The department Technology and Innovation Platform (TIP) Production is responsible for the design, development and implementation of production processes and required tools. This comprises the source code repository with its data structuring, the build and assembly and the deployment to test systems for technologies, such as Java, .Net and C/C++. The Delivery team for large products within TIP Production covers end to end production process. As a central part of SAPs development organizations, we are working together with development teams all over the world.
You will be part of a team that will be responsible for optimal use and continuous improvement of production tools and infrastructure portfolio as well as processes definition to handle consistent delivery for large scale cross technology products.
We are looking for a new team member to:
• Participate in designing large scale production process for products and platforms like SAP NetWeaver, NGAP Kernel, SAP JVM and SAP ByD
• Work with various SAP proprietary and open source tools
• Align with development teams
• Roll-out to the development organization and support
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Build engineer, you’ll be expected to:
• Cover the full cycle of professional software development
• Understand the challenge of implementing large scale production processes
• Monitor production systems and processes
• Develop scripts and tools for the integration of the products into our production processes
• Actively communicate with and support development teams
• Continuously provide feedback and ideas for improvement to other Production teams
• Be up-to-date with the latest development within SAP and open source community.
• You are networker who proactively establishes connections to our stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field.
• A strong technical background is required: knowledge of Windows operating systems, Unix is a big plus, development experience in object oriented language such as Java, C/C++ or .NET.
• Perl and shell scripting skills is an advantage
• Ant, XML, SCM systems, Central schedulers, Continuous integration systems, VM technology experience is considered an advantage
• Good communication and writing skills in English.
• As TIP Production is working along lean principles you are expected to integrate into an agile team. Support innovation and share learning with other team members.
• Team oriented with outstanding drive and energy, flexible and willing to learn new subject matters quickly
• Minimum 2 years professional experience as software engineer
